Latest update on Lytham Road Crossing

wpeb36ce76_0fWoodley and Whitegates Lib Dems welcomes the news that the developer of the houses in Lytham Road has agreed to fund a pedestrian crossing and that after years of waiting a pedestrian crossing on Lytham Road has moved a step closer.
Jenny Lissaman Lib Dem councillor for Bulmershe and Whitegates said “When a planning inspector approved the development of houses on Lytham Road he imposed a condition that a pedestrian crossing would be required before the houses were occupied.  It is shameful that Lib Dem councillors and local residents have had to push so hard to get a crossing in place after the Tory controlled Wokingham Borough Council did not enforce this condition before the houses were sold as was demanded by the inspector” Sam Rahmouni Lib Dem Councillor for Bulmershe and Whitegates said “Now that the developers have finally agreed to pay up there is nothing to stop the work from proceeding.  Lib Dem councillors will continue to press Wokingham Borough Council to ensure that the crossing is installed as soon as possible – residents have waited long enough and there should be no excuses for further delays”
